Cookie Policy
Effective date: 30 July 2025
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the website owner. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) govern our use of cookies in the UK.
2. Cookies We Use
Prospecting.Business currently uses strictly necessary cookies only. These cookies are essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They do not track you for advertising or analytics purposes.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __session | Clerk | Maintains your authenticated session so you stay signed in | Strictly necessary | Session (deleted when browser closes) |
| __client_uat | Clerk | Stores the timestamp of the last active session for reconnection | Strictly necessary | 1 year |
| __clerk_db_jwt | Clerk | Short-lived JWT used to synchronise authentication state | Strictly necessary | Short-lived (minutes) |
In addition, we use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your cookie notice preference. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
3. Why We Don't Need Your Consent for These Cookies
Under PECR, consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary for a service explicitly requested by the user. All cookies listed above fall into this category — they exist solely to keep you signed in and to secure your account. Without them the Service cannot function.
We do not use advertising, tracking, profiling, or analytics cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
4. Mobile Application
Our mobile application (iOS and Android) does not use browser cookies. It uses secure device storage (Expo SecureStore) to cache your authentication token locally on your device. This data is protected by your device's security and is not accessible to other applications.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling the strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent the Service from functioning correctly — you will not be able to sign in or maintain a session.

6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please re-visit this page periodically.
